I had the thought that Adam and Eve chose wrong because of naivety.

And that with 2,000 years of hearing their story under our belt,

Perhaps people would choose differently.

When I spun that to our oldest,

The story that perhaps we were living in the modern day Eden

And if God came and offered the Fruit of Knowledge

For a better Existence if we but took a bite

They both cut me off and said people would be stupid enough to take another bite

Which I find makes me incredibly sad,

Because you would think with years of punishment

And then the eventual reinstatement of a good life worth living

That people would come to the realization

That being happy with what you have

Is far better than chancing

Something better with a figment of possibility
